Holiday Gift Guide for Him – Justin’s Favourite Things
The very best things for the men in your life.
1. Eddie Bauer Ultrasoft Thermal Henley Justin owns 6 of these shirts, and if that’s not an endorsement I don’t know what is. A go-to day to day shirt for the cooler months.
2. Scotch Decanter and Rocks Glasses For the scotch/whiskey/bourbon or cocktail loving man in your life, this is an elevated gift that can literally last a lifetime. The plaid pattern in this cut crystal set, similar to what Justin has (his is no longer available) is classic & masculine.
3. Buff Merino Wool Neck Gaiter If Justin had a trademarked saying “If your neck’s warm, you’re warm” would be a top contender. And I can’t deny it – every member of our household has a Buff, the best low profile scarf; the soft merino wool is great for daily life or fitness activities.
4. Blundstone Boots These are a PNW staple for a reason. Classic, rugged and versatile – Justin actually has two pairs (rustic brown as pictured and the winter insulated version as well). In fact both my daughter and I also have & love Blundstones (I promise not all our clothes are matching, ok?).
5. Slim Fit Flannel If Justin’s not wearing a henley, he’s probably in a flannel. This one is his fav because of the slim fit (hard to find!), and they are always adding new patterns to add to his collection.
6. Mercato Pasta Machine We made fresh pasta on out first date (13 years ago!), and it’s been a staple in our culinary rotation since then. Last year we upgraded to this pasta machine, and it is SO good. If you have a foodie in your life, this makes an awesome gift.
7. Global Chef’s Knife A great knife is an essential in any kitchen, and this one is a workhorse. We’ve had this knife for 8+ years and it’s still going strong. It performs just as well as some of the expensive hand-forged knives Justin has, but is much lower maintenance (it can even go in the dishwasher!).
8. Cast Iron Skillet A classic in the kitchen for a reason, this pan is always on rotation in our home. From baking cornbread to high-heat searing, it’s super versatile and can go from stovetop to oven (or even the bbq), and it will last a lifetime.
9. Vitamix Blender Yes, it lives up to the hype. Favourite things? Making an amazing smoothie with whole fruit and veg just thrown in (we’re an entire un-chopped carrot and its liquified), and literally the silkiest puréed soups you’ve ever had. Another reason I’m team Vitamix for life? I once dropped the container off the counter and cracked it – they sent a new one free of charge. With customer service like that, I’ll be brand loyal forever. (yes this is Justin’s list but I love it too!)
10. Pizza Steel I’m not sure why the pizza stone became “the” thing for at home pizza, because the steel is 1000x better. It conducts heat more quickly for a beautifully browned crust.
11. Patagonia Fleece Sweater This is such a timeless piece, Justin wears it both in the city and hiking. You cannot go wrong with this as a gift for any man in your life.
